Kuwaiti Customs purchase 2 SOTER RS Body Scanners from OD Security

Netherlands based security manufacturer, OD Security announced today that the Kuwait General Administration of Customs has purchased 2 SOTER RS Through-Body Scanner Units.

The SOTER RS is a low dosage full body scanner which combines ultra low radiation with maximum visibility, for use at airports to scan suspected drug smugglers. It can undertake a whole body, clothing or body searches within 10 seconds.

Within those seconds the SOTER RS reveals hidden items, typically items such as narcotics, explosives, weapons and precious stones. It can detect non-metallic objects hidden under clothes, in natural cavities or within the human body. The SOTER shows a clear difference between human tissue and other materials. Even ingested or camouflaged items will be shown.

Previously, these items could only be detected by highly intrusive, expensive and time consuming total body searches.

Customs Officers can operate the SOTER RS without the need for any formal specialist training, or medical training to recognise drugs.

SOTER RS is successfully deployed in prisons, in airports, detention centres, police and customs facilities worldwide including; Australia, Denmark, Ghana, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, The Netherlands, The United Arab Emirates, The United States of America, The United Kingdom, Chile, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

OD Security will be exhibiting at the forthcoming 3rd World BORDERPOL Congress which will be held at Kempinski Hotel, Budapest, Hungary from the 9th to 11th December, 2014.
