In a statement by COL Turki Al-Malki, of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, it was confirmed that:  On 23.02.2020 the Coalition Navy detected an attempted terrorist attack by Iran-backed Houthi militia in Southern Red Sea using a remote-controlled exploding boat.

The terrorist Houthi militia launched the rigged boat off of Hodeida Governorate. Coalition Naval forces destroyed the rigged boat, which was a threat to regional and international security as well as to the sea lanes and international trade.

In addition, three naval mines were discovered and destroyed in the Bab-el-Mandeb strait and Southern Red Sea over a twenty-four hour period. The total number of naval mines deployed by the Houthi militia, that have been detected and destroyed has reached one hundred and fifty.
This is a clear and flagrant violation of the International Humanitarian Law and the Hodeida ceasefire agreement.   The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition continues to implement rigorous measures against this terrorist militia to neutralize and destroy such capabilities that threaten regional and international security.
