RT's SkyStar 180 is currently deployed in Santiago, during the nationwide protests that involves more than one million people

The SkyStar aerostat systems are ideal for border control, HLS and security missions, as they offer availability of over 85% in any given area, and provide persistent surveillance and communication over long periods of time at a very minimal cost. The SkyStar Aerostat systems are deployed by many different forces around the world for such purposes.

Currently, a number of SkyStar 180 aerostat systems are deployed in Santiago de Chile by the municipal police, as part of the security efforts during the mass protests against the government.

RT's Skystar™ family of aerostats includes the SkyStar 110, SkyStar 120, SkyStar 180, and SkyStar 330. SkyStar is a self-contained, versatile, easily transportable, cost-effective tactical system comprised of a ground control station, a ground system module, a tether, a lighter-than-air platform, a stabilized payload platform, and a sensor suite. The SkyStar systems already accomplished more than 2 million operational hours worldwide. In Israel, the SkyStar aerostats are constantly deployed at the Gaza border.

Rami Shmueli, RT's CEO: "Offering availability of over 85% in any given area, RT's SkyStar aerostats provide a complete set of solutions for border control, defense, HLS, public safety and camp protection. No other defense solution, manned or unmanned, is as cost-effective as aerostats, and that is what makes them an ideal mean for securing and protecting wide and long areas, such as borders. SkyStar is one of the worlds' most popular aerostats, with more than 100 systems sold and operated worldwide in military and civilian missions.”
