CONTROP Introduces New SWIR and HD Thermal Capabilities for Airborne and Naval EO/IR Systems

CONTROP introduces new Short Wave Infra-Red (SWIR) and High-Definition (HD) Thermal Imaging (TI) capabilities for airborne and naval systems.

The new SWIR channel will enable improved surveillance in adverse visibility conditions during the day and at twilight time. The HD TI channel will enable a higher quality image and a wider field of view for enhanced situational awareness.

According to Mr. Hagay Azani, CONTROP’s VP Marketing and Sales, “The issue of harsh environmental conditions and limited visibility at certain times of the day and night is critical for our customers. These new channels enable the highest observation capabilities 24/7 and in all weather conditions, including conditions typical of the tropical climate of the Asia Pacific region, which is characterized by high humidity, cloudiness and haze."

The iSky-50HD airborne EO/IR payload and the iSea-50HD Maritime EO/IR payload will now include three (3) channels: a continuous zoom HD day channel, a continuous zoom HD thermal channel, and a SWIR spotter. Additional optional features include an Eyesafe Laser Range Finder (ELRF) and/or Laser Pointer. The systems include superb gyro-stabilization, real-time image enhancement features, built-in INS, and automatic video tracker. All of the CONTROP iSea and iSky day/night camera payloads have an easy interface to radar and other mission systems for slewing the EO/IR camera to the detected target.
