QinetiQ exhibits maritime defence technologies UDT Europe 2005

This week in Amsterdam QinetiQ is exhibiting some of its underwater marine defence technologies. Included on the QinetiQ stand at UDT 2005 are:

NEC underwater communications system - QinetiQ's Proteus successfully completed a period of intense testing in May when a submarine command team used the system to interact with various surface and submerged assets and rapidly deployable off-board sensors deployed on the sea-bed.

Torpedo countermeasures technology - earlier this year QinetiQ signed a contract worth over $5 million for the supply and ongoing support of LOKI torpedo countermeasures for the Royal Norwegian Navy.

Diver Reconnaissance System - an underwater navigation and search system that will increase the effectiveness of mine clearance divers. Developed by QinetiQ, this system is set to play a significant role in mines counter measures operations, particularly those conducted in shallow littoral waters.

Cerberus - a high performance swimmer detection system. In recent trials, Cerberus was able to detect a diver at 900 metres in water only ten metres deep.

To learn more about these and other QinetiQ technologies visit Stand 72/73 at UDT.
