Optex Launches a New Standard in Outdoor Combination Detectors
With the assistance of Norbain SD Ltd at this year's IFSEC exhibition, Optex launched its new Outdoor Combination Detector, the OPM Series or Redwave®. This new detector series combines the reliability of the Redwall® passive infrared detector with new standards of outdoor microwave detection. Minimising the potential for false activations is the key demand for central monitoring stations and this is exactly what Redwave® offers.
Redwave® is BS8418 compliant and uses Dual Quad Zone Logic technology alongside the World's first Adjustable Microwave Range Limiter (A.M.R.L.) technology, which allows users to adjust the detection distance, and greatly minimise the potential for false activations.
Redwave® provides two different detection patterns, a wide angle version the OPM-3020 (30m x 20m) and a narrow angle version the OPM-303 (30m x 3m). These detectors are designed to match commonly used camera and lens combination, allowing users to perfectly match their camera and detection zones as required by the new BS8418 standard.
SeQuadTM claims coveted PSI Premier Award
Optex's SeQuadTM confirmation detector won the coveted PSI Product Innovation Award at the Annual PSI Premier Awards, held at Moor Park Golf Club in Rickmansworth on Tuesday 7th June 2005. The SeQuadTM PIR detector specifically designed for intruder alarm applications where DD243:2004 compliance is required, beat off competition from the likes of Bosch and Rokonet.
The PSI Premier Awards have become an important security industry event, and the awards that are on offer are made all the more prestigious by the fact that they are voted for by professional security installers.
The Optex SeQuadTM Sequential Confirmation Detector comprises of two independent PIR detectors in a single housing, providing two non-overlapping detection areas. The "One Unit - One Cable� design makes installation and upgrading easy. SeQuadTM is suitable for use in systems designed to comply with PD6662:2004 at Security Grade 2 and Environmental Class 2.
