City of London Police have buy AXON Body Cameras

TASER Announces First Significant UK Order From The City of London For 178 AXON body-worn video cameras and a one-year subscription to EVIDENCE.com by the City of London Police Department.

The evidence collected from the cameras will be securely stored and managed through the EVIDENCE.com platform. This turn-key solution is the most cost effective method to deploy body-worn video, while meeting or exceeding all appropriate UK security standards.

"The City of London is currently undergoing a transformation in how we use technology to assist us with keeping the City safe," said Chief Superintendent Dave Lawes of the City of London. "We're excited about TASER's end-to-end solution that allows our police force the flexibility to integrate with existing and future technology."

"The City of London is truly innovative in their approach to building a premier body-worn video and digital evidence program in the UK," says Rick Smith, founder and CEO of TASER International. "We're looking forward to working with them and other police forces in the UK to help build safer communities with our turn-key technology solution."

TASER is hosting a Technology Summit in April with thought leaders from police forces across the UK to discuss how advanced technology like body cameras and evidence management are enabling police to be more effective in their jobs. EVIDENCE.com helps police capture, manage, and share their digital evidence without the complexity or cost of installing in-house servers. It enables greater transparency through seamless integration with the industry-leading AXON body-worn video cameras. EVIDENCE.com is the most secure, scalable, and cost-effective solution for managing all types of digital evidence. The end-to-end solution automates the upload process to ensure security and integrity while keeping officers in the field rather than sitting at computers.

TASER's AXON cameras are small, yet highly visible, and can be attached securely to uniforms/shirts, sunglasses, a cap, a shirt collar, or a head mount. They are powered by a pocket size battery pack which ensures recording capability during an entire shift. When recording, the cameras capture a wide-angle, full-color view of what an officer is facing. The video automatically uploads via a docking station to EVIDENCE.com, a cloud-based storage and management system, where it can be easily accessed for review. The video files stored online or on the AXON video camera are secure and include a chain of custody with audit trails.
