Smiths Detection To Help Safeguard Teams, Staff And Visitors At Super Bowlâ„¢ XLVIII

Smiths Detection was awarded a contract by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to help provide security at Super Bowlâ„¢ XLVIII in East Rutherford, NJ on Sunday, 2 February.

Smiths Detection technologies will be featured as part of a layered security framework to help protect teams, staff, and visitors at the Super Bowl from a broad range of potential threats. The systems include handheld Multi-Mode Treat Detectors (MMTD) and SABRE 5000 units, both used to detect trace amounts of hazardous materials in the air, including explosives and toxic industrial chemicals.

SABRE 5000 is a small, light handheld system used to screen for trace amounts of explosives, chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals or narcotics.
