CEM Systems helps Belfast International Airport Increase Security for G8 Summit

CEM Systems, part of Tyco Security Products, is pleased to announce that it worked together with long-standing customer Belfast International Airport to increase security during the G8 Summit.

Already having CEM S3020 portable access control readers on site as part of the existing CEM AC2000 access control system, the Airport chose to increase the number of portable readers to ensure maximum security throughout this busy time. CEM portable readers enable on-site airport security staff to validate access control cards at remote parts of the site or areas with no mains power supply, and they can also be used for random checks.

The G8 is made up of world leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the USA and the UK. The EU is represented by the President of the European Commission & the President of the European Council. The 2013 G8 Summit was held at Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, on 17 and 18 June and resulted in a significant increase in visitor numbers to Northern Ireland. As Northern Ireland's largest airport, it was imperative for Belfast International Airport that security was maintained at the highest standard.
