QinetiQ signs MoU with Dytecna

QinetiQ and Dytecna Ltd. today (September 14th 2011) signed a MoU which will see two leading experts from the defence and security industry pursue shared product development opportunities relating to force protection.

Both companies are committed to providing reliable and safe solutions to the defence market and hope to bring a new solution to market that would be of primary use in surveillance within the force protection environment.

"Protecting information, people, platforms and places in the most complex of environments is of critical importance to both companies," said Mr Gareth Pugh, Campaign Leader for C-IED at QinetiQ. "Both Dytecna and QinetiQ are involved in the development of persistent and wide-area surveillance capability products and we have undertaken joint projects before."

An example of recent co-operation between the two companies was the development of Pallisade Mobile, which combines sensors to provide rapidly available and dedicated situational awareness for critical installations and temporary sites.

The system is robust and scalable and is built around a core of the open architecture QinetiQ Sensor Management System. This is enabled by Dytecna, which provided a Cube, a self-contained unit which protects the senor combinations, enabling unsupported surveillance for up to 20 days operation from a footprint the size of a NATO pallet.

"The signing of an MoU between Dytecna and QinetiQ expresses both companies' intention to further develop and exploit their respective knowledge, experience and professional networks to jointly qualify and pursue specific opportunities relating to force protection," said John Fulford, Managing Director of Dytecna.

The signing between QinetiQ and Dytecna will take place at the QinetiQ stand, Stand 279, South Hall, at this year's DSEi exhibition, on Wednesday, September 14th 2011.
