BAE SYSTEMS AWARDED $4.3 MILLION DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CONTRACT TO
PROVIDE DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING SERVICES
BAE Systems has been awarded a $4.3 million contract by the Department of
Transportation (DOT) to provide drug and alcohol testing services and
supporting functions to DOT and other federal government agencies. The
total value of the contract could reach $37.4 million, if all options are
exercised, over the five-year contract term.

For more than 14 years, BAE Systems has been a leading contractor in
providing program management support for Federal agencies, Drug and
Alcohol-Free Workplace Programs. With the tragic events of September 11,
2001, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was created and the
Federal Air Marshals program was significantly expanded. BAE Systems played
an important role with both programs, helping DOT smoothly bring onboard
thousands of new Air Marshals and to ensure the new TSA work force remains
drug and alcohol-free.

BAE Systems and its partners, Examination Management Services, Inc (EMSI)
and National Safety Alliance (NSA) will provide program management, quality
assurance, scheduling, reporting, collection, alcohol testing, and medical
review services to the DOT, TSA, and any other federal agency that chooses
to obtain services under this contract.

&This is an important program that directly impacts the safety of the
travelling public,8 said Bob Murphy, president, BAE Systems Technology
Solutions. &We look forward to continuing the mutually supportive
partnership that we have enjoyed with the DOT and all the other federal
agencies that have used our services.8
