German Armed Forces order 4 LUNA UAV Systems from EMT

LUNA, the unmanned aerial reconnaissance systems, have proven their reliability and technical maturity in more than 5000 flights and in international missions at day and night and under difficult climatic conditions.

The reconnaissance results of these systems make an important contribution to the safety of the armed forces in Afghanistan.

The Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement has now contracted EMT with the production and delivery of 4 additional LUNA systems.

The contract encompasses, among others, 40 aircraft, 8 ground control stations, 8 launchers, 8 net landing systems as well as diverse special equipment. All systems will be integrated into mine protected carrier vehicles.

By further performance optimization of range, endurance, sensory and relay operation the deployment of LUNA will now be more versatile.

Delivery begins this year and shall be concluded in the summer of 2010. The manufacturer EMT is a system house specialized in the development, production and world wide support of Unmanned Aerial Reconnaissance Systems.
