ECA signs contract with THALES - New success for Mine Killer K-STER
ECA signed a contract for the delivery of forty Mine Killer "K-STER". This contract is part of the retrofit concerning two mine hunters HUNT, resold by the British
MOD to the Lithuanian Navy.
THALES UK, prime contractor, has selected K-STER following an open tender process of several months. This choice has been ratified by the MOD.
Since beginning of 2008, only two contracts concerning robotic systems for Mine Warfare have been awarded worldwide; both of them have been attributed to ECA as subcontractor of THALES. In fact, ECA has announced early 2008 the signature of the first contract for equipping an Asian Navy with K-STERS.
