ELICS MK-5 Digital MCM Side Scan Sonar at Euronaval 2008

IXSEA launches ELICS MK-5 at EURONAVAL 2008, Paris-Le Bourget exhibition center from 27 to 31 October 2008. It is an advanced high-resolution digital sonar designed for rapid environmental assessment, route survey and MCM missions.

The ELICS MK-5 sonar combines the benefits of beam forming and interferometry techniques with embedded inertial navigation and acoustic positioning to produce directly georeferenced image and bathymetric infor¬mation in real-time. ELICS MK-5 also includes a gap filler and provides complete swath coverage even at nadir.

Excellent for rapid survey operations with a 10 knot survey speed, its high resolution allows for easy target detection. It combines sonar and bathymetry for enhanced data visualization and feature detection.

Thanks to an embedded Inertial Navigation System (INS) tightly coupled with an acoustic positioning system, it offers directly georeferenced images with real-time use.

The ELICS MK-5 applications include: Rapid Environmental Assessment (REA); route and harbour surveys; homeland defense; unexploded ordnance survey; search and recovery and MCM.
