New NABCO Ammunition Destruction System Targets Growing Problem for Law Enforcement
There is a growing problem in many police departments across the world. And it's not crime. It's tons of ammunition, pyrotechnics, and other confiscated items stored in expensive warehouses — material that police departments can neither burn nor destroy without running afoul of stringent environmental regulations.
"We've talked to police departments that are literally warehousing several tons of confiscated ammo,� explains Randy Markey, Chief Operating Officer of NABCO, "and paying tens of thousands of dollars in storage and security costs to do so.� Now NABCO has introduced a new system that will help law enforcement solve this growing problem once and for all: the new NABCO Ammunition Destruction System (ADS).
Building on its long experience as the leader in explosive containment, NABCO has designed the ADS to feature many leading-edge capabilities. Its unique radiant burn design eliminates direct burning of ammunition, while offering larger payloads and quicker burn rates than competitive units. Its built-in filtering system meets or exceeds current EPA regulations. The system is capable of fully containing a 0.68 kg TNT detonation inside the chamber for added operator safety. And 90% of the material being disposed of can be recycled through the ADS's lead capture system.
