ITT Industries' is a world leader in the development and fielding of tactical communication systems that extend technology to the edge of the battlefield.
Among the ITT systems in production are the SINCGARS Advanced Tactical Communications System (ATCS) and the Centaur Battlefield Tactical Communications System (BTCS). Both ATCS and BTCS include a family of radios that encompass every soldier domain including vehicular, manpack, handheld and airborne. And both systems include the world's only ad hoc networking radio for wideband data and video operations.
Centaur BTCS is the newest ITT system and is in operation with British forces in Iraq. Centaur is manufactured at ITT Defence's Basingstoke site in the U.K., which is a secure facility commissioned in 2002. The site utilizes the very latest production equipment and techniques to ensure high quality manufacturing.
BTCS features include integrated cryptographic security , integrated TCP/IP routers, excellent RF Cosite performance, Software-Defined waveforms and integrated GPS for situational awareness
ATCS is based on the world's most widely used VHF system-SINCGARS. SINCGARS is deployed worldwide with U.S. and 24 other allied forces. ITT's U.S. facility also utilizes the very latest production equipment and techniques to ensure unrivaled reliability.
SINCGARS offers immediate access to COMSEC operations, an integrated internet controller, integrated GPS, interoperability with all other SINCGARS radios and the proprietary ESIP waveform for improved performance in high-noise environments.
Both ATCS and BTCS provide scaleable, robust network centric battlefield architecture. Both also offer reliable communications that grow with the increasing demands of users and an affordable path forward to future generations of communication capabilities through software upgrades.
Today, ITT is working on some of the most advanced communication systems in the world. These include development of the Soldier Radio Waveform which promises to revolutionize the way individuals can see, plan and react on the battlefield.
