| Tenix Defence Marine Division, part of the
Tenix Group, is a major ship designer and builder in the Asia Pacific region.
Our focus is on the delivery of cost-effective solutions to complex Defence
and commercial opportunities for both new build and support activities.
The company uses modern shipbuilding and manufacturing
techniques. New construction, repairs and maintenance are undertaken at
our Australian shipyards in Williamstown (Victoria) and Henderson (WA).
Both facilities also perform in-service support. Our Whangarei site in
New Zealand has fabricated ANZAC superstructure and hull modules and is
suitable for small vessel construction. Other support facilities are located
in Darwin, Cairns, Brisbane and Sydney. Marine Division also has offices
in Manila and Fiji.
Tenix backs its designs with the extensive experience
of having designed, built and delivered more than 200 naval, paramilitary
and specialist vessels, and has the full capability to design, construct,
outfit, set-to-work, trial and support major surface combatants.
Tenix is prime contractor for the $A7B ANZAC Ship Project,
involving the development and construction of 10 frigates, eight for the
Royal Australian Navy and two for the Royal New Zealand Navy. It is the
largest and arguably most successful defence contract ever awarded in
Australia. Tenix's management of the contract has earned it international
recognition and a number of prestigious engineering and quality awards.
Other major defence projects include the eight purpose
built search and rescue vessels contract for the Philippines government,
engineered for rapid response in the event of a maritime emergency. Tenix
has been contracted by the Royal New Zealand Navy for the supply of one
Multi-Role Vessel, two Offshore Patrol Vessels, and four Inshore Patrol
Vessels, known as Project Protector.
Marine Division has particular skills in naval systems design and integration,
bringing together sensor and communication systems and weapons from a
variety of national suppliers, and integrating them into fully operational
combat systems. Tenix has skills, knowledge and experience in systems
engineering, design and development, installation, integration, test,
operation and support of new generation mission systems.
Tenix can provide repair and refit services on an as
required fee through to a complete turnkey maintenance and support service.
These services are provided in Tenix’s own facilities or in conjunction
with Tenix quality endorsed partners. Furthermore, Tenix offers innovative
data management software solutions and a variety of support products and
services that can be tailored to meet individual customer requirements.
This can range from the provision of specific integrated logistic support
(ILS) products through to the production of a complete ILS package.
Marine Division offers cost effective through
life support programs. This includes systems engineering, configuration
management, maintenance planning, maintenance, supply support including
warehousing, and reliability and availability reporting services. Tenix
provides through life support services for 22 Pacific Patrol Boats located
throughout the South West Pacific region, and for the ANZAC Class fleet
at homeports and, where necessary, in remote locations.
