Smiths Detection has won contracts to supply advanced X-ray screening systems and explosives trace detectors to two major airports in Malaysia. Penang International Airport and Kuala Lumpur International Airport Low Cost Carrier Terminal 2 (KLIA2) will be equipped with HI-SCAN detectors that can detect explosives automatically and IONSCAN table-top devices that can identify both explosives and narcotics. They will be delivered within the next year. Our partnership with local distributor Wafada Consult Technic continues to help us grow the awareness of Smiths Detection’s market-leading products.” HI-SCAN 10080 EDtS are able to screen up to 1,800 bags per hour and automatically detect explosives. HI-SCAN 100100t-2is is a dual-view X-ray system for oversized baggage inspection. IONSCAN 500DT simultaneously detects explosives and narcotics on baggage. All these products expedite passenger and baggage screening.
