Codan Releases ISB Capability for the NGT Series of HF Radios Doubles data rate for e-mail Codan Limited (ASX-CDA) announced the introduction of the Independent Sideband (ISB) capability for the Codan New Generation Transceiver (NGT) product range. Paired with Codan's RM50e data modem, the NGT supports data applications using MIL-STD-188-110A/B waveforms, yielding data rates of up to 9,600 bps. Codan's ISB option doubles this data capability to up to 19,200 bps, using the MIL-STD-188-110B Appendix F waveform. This results in significantly improved responsiveness and reduced transmission times for data intensive applications such as e-mail. "Codan's NGT has enjoyed immense success in the marketplace," said Steven Jenkins, director, Product Management, Codan Radio Communications Division. "Its revolutionary mobile-phone style handset user interface, combined with a broad array of features including certified MIL-STD-188-141B ALE, CES-128/AES-256 voice encryption, frequency hopping, and industry-leading RF performance, has made it the product of choice for mobile and base station applications. The addition of ISB will offer tremendous data flexibility in addition to our industry-leading set of features." Codan's ISB capability is available as an option on NGT SRx and NGT MR (military) Models. Both models can be deployed in base, mobile or portable configurations and users can connect countless devices such as crosspatch, telephone interconnect, or additional modems.
