Overview
The Borderpol International Association is a fraternal non profit body dedicated
to border security and safety professionals the world over. The Borderpol mission
is "to protect and connect" the international community by promoting
safe and secure borders.
The effective enforcement of crimes such as trafficking in humans, smuggling
of drugs, proliferation of illegal weapons and terrorism requires a global approach
involving border safety and security agencies at an international level. Borderpol
supports the development of international border safety and security standards
through which border agencies and services worldwide can voluntarily demonstrate
that they meet professionally recognized criteria for excellence developing
and maintaining safe and secure borders.
Government consulting services
Spotlight...
The Centre for Border Management is the WBO-Borderpol’s
centre for insights and research into best practice in border and migration
management, including the interface between the public and the practitioners.
The Centre has a particular focus on how to achieve the delivery of better border
services, both nationally and internationally. Our mission is to make effective,
practical contributions to the border management paradigm on a wide range of
issues.
Governments, around the world operate in an environment characterized by increased
volumes of migration, changing security needs, diminishing or capped fiscal
natural resources, increasing security concerns and a more demanding traveling
public.
At WBO-Borderpol, we believe there are many ways governments can improve the
efficiency and effectiveness of the way they evaluate, implement and monitor
policy to deliver modern border security and migration screening services. At
the same time, governments must strive to deliver these services more cost-effectively,
providing the public with greater levels of answerability and simplicity and
ensuring their activities legally sound.
